On Monday night, a teen pedestrian was struck and injured on a Tryon roadway. According to WLOS ABC News Channel 13, the incident happened on Sandy Plains Road, near N.C.-9. Very few details about this collision have been released, but we do know that the 15-year-old pedestrian had to be airlifted to a nearby hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

The driver of the car, a 55-year-old from Tryon, did not report any injuries on the scene. At this time, there has been no word on whether or not any citations or charges have been made. The cause of this crash is likely still under investigation with local law enforcement officers.
