On Wednesday morning, a Landrum High School student was killed in a one-car crash on Highway 11. The incident happened at about 7:30 a.m. on Highway 11. According to WLOS ABC News Channel 13, 17-year-old Jordan Powell was on his way to school when he over-corrected his Honda Civic and drove off of the side of the road.

Powell was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, and he was ejected from the vehicle. He died on the scene. Classmates visited the site of the crash to reflect on the wreck and the loss of their friend.
