On Wednesday night, a local teen was killed in a crash in Buncombe County. According to WLOS ABC News Channel 13, the incident happened just after 5:30 p.m. on Newfound Road. A passenger in the car, 16-year-old Daniel Arrowood, was killed in the wreck. For currently unknown reasons, the speeding car left the roadway and rolled into a ditch.
Both the teen driver and passenger were wearing their seat belts. The car was estimated to be going 70 miles per hour in a 45 mile per hour zone prior to the wreck. At this time, officials suspect that driver inexperience and speed were factors in this fatal one-car crash. Charges are pending against the teen driver.
