On Wednesday morning, there was a truck crash involving two other vehicles on Interstate 40. According to WLOS ABC News Channel 13, the incident happened near Dunsmore Avenue, on the Buncombe County-McDowell County line, at about 7:30 a.m. Very little information about this truck crash has been released, but we do know that the tractor-trailer was headed eastbound when the wreck happened. Initial reports indicate that the truck somehow lost power while going uphill. It then rolled backward and hit two vehicles traveling behind it.
The drivers in both of the other vehicles had to be taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries. This truck crash is likely still under investigation with local law enforcement officials.
