On Tuesday morning, there was a tractor-trailer crash in Swain County. According to WLOS ABC News Channel 13, the wreck happened on Highway 19 at about 6:00 a.m. Very few details about the semi-truck crash have been released, but we do know that the big rig overturned in the Nantahala Gorge area, near the Nantahala Outdoor Center. Initial reports indicate that the roadway was closed for a period of time near Silvermine Road. Traffic in the area had to be detoured to alternate routes as crews and first responders worked the scene.
