On Monday morning, a semi truck crashed into a work zone in Jackson County. According to WLOS ABC News Channel 13, the incident happened on U.S. 74 at about 7:00 a.m. Very little information has been released about this crash, but we do know that a tractor trailer reportedly entered a construction work zone near Gindstaff Cove Road and struck a barrier. The driver lost control of the vehicle, and it hit a median and then came to a stop. Thankfully, nobody was working in the work zone at the time of the crash. This was a single-vehicle crash, and no injuries were reported on the scene.

There has been no word on what charges the driver is facing, and this truck crash is likely still under investigation with local law enforcement officials. First responders and crews were on the scene for hours, and as of 11:30 a.m., one of the two lanes was still closed on U.S. 74 near Exit 83. Additionally, the truck was hauling plastic pebbles at the time of the crash.
