Local and state law enforcement agencies will be participating in this year’s “Click It or Ticket” safety campaign. According to WLOS ABC News Channel 13, Buncombe County has low seat belt usage rates when compared with statewide averages. Troopers will be out in full force for the holiday weekend making sure drivers are being safe and buckling up.
“Click It or Ticket” For Safety
In 2014, there were 21 deaths in traffic crashes in Buncombe County, and seven of those victims were unbuckled at the time of the crash. Buckling up, for every trip needs to be a top priority for drivers and passenger vehicle occupants this holiday weekend and all yearlong. Additionally, tickets for not wearing your seat belt or wearing it improperly can cost as much as $161.
