The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is calling on motorists to drive sober or get pulled over for the holiday season. They’re also reminding drivers and all passenger vehicle occupants to buckle up for every trip, every time. Sadly, this time of year is notorious for having a spike in injury causing and fatal crashes on roadways in North Carolina and across the nation.

Holiday Season Crash Statistics

  • In 2015, 840 people were killed on U.S. roadways in drunk driving crashes in the month of December.
