Three Motorcycle Crashes in Three Days
The incident in Woodfin was the third motorcycle crash reported in just three days. Only a few short hours before the Woodfin motorcycle crash, there was a motorcycle wreck on Holly Springs Road in Etowah. The rider involved had to be airlifted to Mission Hospital for treatment of injuries. On Wednesday night, a motorcycle wreck in Asheville sent a 56-year-old rider to the hospital as well.
More Motorcycles in Warm Weather
Law enforcement officers were quick to point out that with warmer weather on the horizon, there will be an increase in motorcycles on the roadways. Drivers are reminded to share the road and lookout for motorcyclists and other roadway users. In one of the wrecks, a rider’s motorcycle helmet came off during the crash, so first responders are urging riders to ensure their helmets are properly fastened. A helmet with a loose chinstrap isn’t going to help in an accident. Ensure your helmet fits properly and is securely fastened before you hit the open road. You can’t help what other drivers are doing, but you can improve your personal safety with the use of a motorcycle helmet and other protective gear.
