Last week, there were two fatal wrecks on US 441 in Jackson County. According to WLOS ABC News Channel 13, both crashes happened at around the same time on Friday afternoon. The first wreck happened in the southbound lane when a northbound vehicle hydroplaned. The driver lost control, and the vehicle went into southbound traffic. It hit an oncoming vehicle. A passenger occupant was killed in that crash, and others were rushed to the hospital for treatment of serious life-threatening injuries.

The second crash happened on US 441 North, toward Cherokee. A northbound driver also lost control of their vehicle and went into oncoming traffic in the southbound lane. One person was pronounced dead on the scene in that crash.
