On Saturday night, a hit-and-run driver struck a motorcyclist and his passenger in Buncombe County. According to WLOS ABC News Channel 13, the incident happened on Hendersonville Road. Chris and Andrea Gomiller, from Arden, were riding their motorcycle when they when a car drove onto their bike without warning. As Andrea was injured beside the motorcycle, Chris jumped onto the fleeing vehicle in attempts to stop the hit-and-run driver. He fell off the car, but thankfully the driver was later apprehended.
DWI and Felony Hit-and-Run
Michael Works was arrested in connection with the crash and charged with DWI, felony hit-and-run and assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury. WLOS ABC News Channel 13 also reports that Works has a history of DWI and hit-and-run convictions. Both Chris and Andrea Gomiller were injured in the wreck, but are recovering from their injuries.
