Over the weekend, a single-vehicle crash knocked out power for about 1,000 customers in McDowell County. According to WLOS ABC News Channel 13, the wreck happened on Burma Road in West Marion. For currently unknown reasons, a vehicle struck a utility pole, just before 10:00 p.m. Thankfully, no injuries were reported in this wreck, but outages were expected until about 2:00 a.m. on Sunday morning.
