On Monday evening, a 22-year-old Mauldin police officer was killed in a motorcycle crash. According to WLOS ABC News Channel 13, the incident happened at the intersection of West Butler Road and Cary Street.
For currently unknown reasons, Austin Gotowka lost control of his bike and slid through the intersection. There was another vehicle involved, but there’s no word on what happened with that vehicle. As of Tuesday, the driver had not been cited, but very few details have been released about the investigation. Gotowka was wearing a helmet at the time of the wreck.
