The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is currently publicizing their annual “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign. Law enforcement agencies in North Carolina and around the country will be participating in high-visibility enforcement campaigns to stop and prevent drunk driving. The Labor Day Weekend is one of the deadliest holiday weekends of the year. The traditional end-of-summer celebrations begin on Friday and can run through the weekend.
In 2014, there were 401 crash fatalities during the Labor Day holiday weekend nationwide. Nearly half of those fatal crashes involved drivers who had been drinking. Fatal and injury causing drunk-driving crashes are completely preventable. If you’re going to celebrate Labor Day with alcohol, don’t get behind the wheel.
If you have been injured or if you have lost a loved one in a drunk driving crash in or around the Asheville area, contact Davis Law Group, P.A. at 888-773-8388 for a free consultation.
