Last week, a man was injured when a train hit his vehicle at a railroad crossing in Waynesville. According to WLOS ABC News Channel 13, the incident happened at Smathers and Commerce, near Giles Chemical. Very few details about this collision have been released, but we do know that an elderly man’s vehicle was struck while crossing railroad tracks. Initial reports indicate that he didn’t hear the approaching train when he went to cross the tracks.

He was transported to Haywood Regional Medical Center for treatment, but there has been no word on his condition or the extent of injuries involved.
