On Tuesday afternoon, a semi truck crash had traffic backed up in Haywood County. According to WLOS ABC News Channel 13, the incident happened on I-40 east, near the US-74 exit (Exit 27), near Clyde. This wreck happened sometime after 1:00 p.m. and involved a tractor-trailer and a box truck. For currently unknown reasons, the semi truck sideswiped the box truck. Very few details about this truck crash have been released, but we do know that the driver of the box truck was taken to Mission Hospital for treatment of injuries. No charges have been filed, and the cause of this crash is likely still under investigation with law enforcement authorities.
