On Tuesday morning, a Buncombe County crash involving a garbage truck sent one person to the hospital. According to WLOS ABC News Channel 13, the wreck happened around 7:00 a.m. on Brevard Road, near the Blue Ridge Parkway intersection. Apparently, the driver of a garbage truck ran off the road and over corrected the vehicle, causing it to flip on top of a Kia Soul. Emergency responders had to free the trapped driver of the Kia.
The Kia driver was transported to Mission Hospital for treatment of injuries. In spite of the mangled wreckage, he was released from the hospital later that day. The garbage truck driver was charged with reckless driving.
