On Saturday, there was a fatal wrong-way crash on Interstate 26 (U.S.-19) in Woodfin. According to WLOS ABC News Channel 13, the incident happened between exit 24 and 25. Very little information has been released, but we do know that 73-year-old Jimmy Davis of Nashville was headed the wrong way on U.S.-19 North in the southbound lane, when his vehicle hit another vehicle head-on. Davis, a passenger in his vehicle and the other driver were all rushed to Mission Hospital for treatment. Davis did not survive his injuries.
This head-on collision is still under investigation with local law enforcement authorities. There has been no word on the extent of injuries involved or on the conditions of the passenger or the other driver.
