Last week, there was a fatal crash involving a large truck in Fletcher. According to WLOS ABC News Channel 13, the incident happened on U.S.-25, near Smiley’s Flea Market. Although very little information has been released about this fatal truck crash, initial reports indicate that a sedan and a Spartanburg Recycling truck collided head-on. The driver in the sedan, 42-year-old David Anthony Sapp, was ejected from the vehicle. He died on the scene as a result of his injuries.

Crews Respond to Truck Crash in Fletcher

Crews and first responders rushed to the scene, where a portion of the roadway had to be closed for almost six hours. The truck driver was transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries. The crash caused the Spartanburg Recycling truck to spill fuel onto the roadway, so the NCDOT and Mountain Environmental also responded to the scene. According to locals in the area, this is a particularly tricky section of roadway. The cause of this fatal truck crash is likely still under investigation with local law enforcement officials.
