On Wednesday night, a pedestrian was struck by a car and killed in Buncombe County. According to WLOS ABC News Channel 13, the incident happened sometime before 7:00 p.m. on Pisgah Highway. Very few details have been released about the fatal pedestrian collision, but we do know that 85-year-old William Rogers was trying to cross the road to meet people for church when he was struck and killed.

The driver remained on the scene, and that person reportedly did not see Rogers until he stepped into the roadway. First responders rushed to the scene. At this time, no charges have been filed.
