On Monday night, two people were killed in a crash on Smokey Park Highway. According to WLOS ABC News Channel 13, this Buncombe County head-on collision happened sometime before 9:00 p.m., in the 1500 block of Smokey Park Highway, near the Bojangles. For currently unknown reasons, a Chevrolet pickup truck pulled into the path of an oncoming antique Ford pickup truck. Davie McClure, 84 years old, and his wife Mattie were in the antique truck at the time of the crash. They both died as a result of their injuries.

Driver and Child Also Injured in Crash

Although very few details have been released, we do know that the driver of the Chevy was 21-year-old Kalyn Taylor. At the time of the crash, her three-year-old daughter was also in the truck. They both sustained injuries in the crash, but have since been released from the hospital. At this time, troopers have been talking with the District Attorney about potential charges against Taylor, although no information has been released about what those charges might be.
