Late on Sunday night, a driver was injured in a Lake Toxaway crash. According to WLOS ABC News Channel 13, the incident happened on Silversteen Road, sometime after 10:00 p.m. The driver reportedly ran off of the road, went down an embankment and struck a tree. Very few details about this crash have been released, but initial reports indicate that speed could have been a factor.
First responders from Rosman and Lake Toxaway Fire Departments were swiftly on the scene of the one-vehicle crash, where the driver had to be extricated from the car. Thankfully, no other cars were involved and there weren’t any passengers in the vehicle. Although the driver was injured and airlifted to Mission Hospital for treatment of injuries, he was conscious during the rescue.
