On Sunday morning, an SUV in Clyde crashed into the front of a Post Office. According to WLOS ABC News Channel 13, the incident occurred at about 10:30 a.m. An elderly driver was behind the wheel at the time of the crash. The driver and a passenger were both transported to Haywood Regional Medical Center. Thankfully, nobody was inside of the post office when the SUV crashed through.

The crash severely damaged the front of the post office. Stonework was damaged and glass was shattered. Although very few details about the one-car crash have been released, initial reports indicate that pedal error may have been a factor. The cause of this crash is likely still under investigation with local law enforcement authorities.
