The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is currently publicizing their Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign. Additionally, law enforcement agencies in North Carolina and across the nation will be stepping up efforts to catch and deter drunk drivers during the Labor Day weekend. Unfortunately, the Labor Day holiday weekend is frequently associated with a spike in injury causing and fatal crashes involving drunk drivers. According to the NHTSA, during the Labor Day holidays from 2011 to 2015, more than 750 people were killed in drunk driving crashes.
