After four deaths along a particular stretch of Kanuga Road since December, the North Carolina Department of Transportation (DOT) is taking steps to improve safety on the Hendersonville roadway. According to WLOS ABC News Channel 13, the DOT is getting ready to widen the road from 9 to 11 feet. Additionally, they’re also going to add an additional four-foot paved shoulder for bicycles. Also in the plans, is a sidewalk from Erikwood to Church Street.
On Tuesday July 18th, the DOT will be holding a public meeting for community input. The meeting will be held at the City Operations Center from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. If you have been injured or if you have lost a loved one in a car accident in Asheville, Hendersonville or in any of the surrounding Western North Carolina communities, contact the skilled team at Davis Law Group, P.A. at 888-773-8388 for a free case consultation.
