April is National Distracted Driving Awareness Month. During the entire month, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) will be running television, radio and web public service announcements about the dangers associated with distracted driving. Law enforcement agencies in North Carolina and across the country will also be stepping up enforcement efforts.
U Drive. U Text. U Pay.
The NHTSA’s U Drive. U Text. U Pay. campaign is also aimed at raising awareness about the financial costs associated with texting while driving. Although drivers of all ages engage in distracted driving behaviors, the campaign is targeted to the age group most likely to text behind the wheel, 18-34 years old.
