CPSC’s Tips For Improving ATV Safety

The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has a variety of tips to help improve ATV safety for riders. First, they recommend never riding on paved roads. Additionally, children under 16 should never be allowed to ride adult-sized ATVs. You should never ride on a one-person ATV with a passenger or as a passenger. Both of these issues can change the weight and balance of the vehicle and make crashes or rollover wrecks more likely to occur. The CPSC also recommends riders always wear helmets and other protective gear to reduce or potentially prevent injuries in the even of a crash. Finally, they also recommend all riders take a hands-on safety training course.
