On Monday morning, a crash on I-40 had traffic backed up in Asheville. According to WLOS ABC News Channel 13, the wreck happened near mile marker 49, sometime around 8:00 a.m. Although very few details have been released, the wreck was described as a ‘high severity incident.’ Portions of the roadway had to be closed for hours as first responders and crews worked the scene.
At this time, we don’t know how many vehicles were involved in the crash or if anybody was hurt. The cause of this crash could still be under investigation with local law enforcement authorities.
