Last week, a child was struck and dragged by a school bus in Taylortown, North Carolina. According to WLOS ABC News Channel 13, the incident happened as the 12-year-old boy was getting off of the West Pine Middle School bus. Very few details about this incident have been released, but we do know that the child was reportedly stepping off of the bus when the doors closed on his backpack. With his backpack still stuck in the doors, the driver started to drive away.

The child was dragged for some distance before freeing himself from the backpack. He then dropped into the road and his left arm was run over by the bus. He was taken to the hospital for treatment of a fractured arm.
